Frances H. Titus

SAVANNAH – Frances Hinds Titus died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at The Oaks on Skidaway Island.
Born in Newcomerstown, OH on August 7, 1906, she was the daughter of the late John and Cora Hinds, and a 1928 graduate of Otterbein College in Columbus, OH. Mrs. Titus taught school in the local public school system for several years. Active in local civic organizations, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was the church organist for over thirty-five years. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Earl L. Titus
Moving to Lakeland, FL in 1961, she worked in administration at Florida Southern College. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the church choir. She moved to Savannah five years ago to be near her daughter.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Alice Cavitt, of Savannah; a son, Dr. Robert E. Titus, of Greenwood, SC; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a nephew.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.
